Brian Leech of Service Legends Awarded The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Brian Leech of Service Legends, Kimberly Heemstra of Bella Salon & Spa, and Local TV Personality, Jackie Schmillen has been named the Iowa Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2012 Central Iowa Man, Woman & Celebrity of the Year.

“The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and I are so thankful to the 11 committed individuals who were candidates for Man, Woman & Celebrity of the Year. Their support helps us move closer to our goal of finding a cure for all blood cancers.” Melanie Brown, Executive Director LLS Iowa Chapter.

Brian, Kimberly and Jackie won the titles based on their ability to collectively raise more than $151,000 during the eleven-week campaign. Every dollar raised counts as one vote.

Winners were announced on May 19, 2012, at the Grand Finale Gala at The Meadows at Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Altoona. Proceeds will be used to fund research for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and to provide information and services for patients and their families.
